We are currently recruiting for Band 4 Support Workers to join our bank service to work across various Children's Residential Homes in the Belfast and Lisburn area for bank shifts.. As a part of the Residential team, you will play a crucial role in providing residential short breaks and intensive support to children with intellectual disabilities. You will be required to work waking night shifts.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in implementing multidisciplinary and therapeutic interventions.
Support children with intellectual disabilities and/or health problems or complex behavioural difficulties.
Follow a highly developmental and best practice model for the residential service.
Conduct assessments and facilitate social inclusion opportunities for the children.
Deliver interventions and activities in the community, such as outreach programs, youth groups, clubs, summer schemes, and family homes.
Requirements:
Be a minimum age of 21 when applying for the post (in accordance with Standard 17:9 of the DHSSPS Minimum Standards for Children’s Homes, 2015)
Have obtained or be in the process of obtaining NVQ/ QCF / RQF Level 3 Caring for Children and Young People or equivalent Health and Social Care related qualification. AND have a minimum of 1 year’s experience of working with children/young people/ young adults with an Intellectual Disability in a caring capacity, in a community, acute or residential setting.
OR
Have obtained an NVQ/ QCF/RQF Level 2 in a Health and Social Care related subject or equivalent AND have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working with children/young people/ young adults with an Intellectual Disability in a caring capacity, in a community, acute or residential setting
OR
GCSEs (Grades A-C) including English or equivalent AND have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of working with children/young people/young adults with an Intellectual Disability in a caring capacity, in a community, acute or residential setting
Be Registered with NISCC on the Social Care part of the register at the time of appointment
