This is an excellent opportunity for people who enjoy working in a busy, varied support environment and are looking for flexible work alongside other commitments.

As a Bank Support Worker, you will work as part of an experienced team within the hostel, providing person-centred support while promoting independence, dignity, choice, safety and wellbeing.

Providing practical and emotional support to residents within a hostel environment.

Supporting individuals who are experiencing or have experienced homelessness.

Working with people who may have complex needs and challenging behaviours.

Encouraging residents to develop independent living skills and work towards their personal goals.

Promoting independence, dignity, choice and inclusion.

Building positive, professional relationships with residents while maintaining appropriate boundaries.

Responding appropriately to challenging situations within the service.

Communicating effectively with residents, colleagues and other professionals.

Maintaining accurate records and completing relevant documentation.

Using email and other ICT systems as required.

Following safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and organisational procedures.

Working effectively as part of the wider hostel and support team.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must:

Have 4 GCSEs at grades A–C, including English and Mathematics, or equivalent qualifications.

Be willing and able to work a rota which includes weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Have a good working knowledge of ICT, Microsoft Office and email.

Have good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.

Have a professional, reliable and compassionate approach.

Be comfortable working within a hostel environment supporting individuals with complex needs.

It would be advantageous if you:

Have previous experience in homelessness, hostel, supported living, housing or social care services.

Have experience supporting individuals with complex needs or behaviours that may challenge.

Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a car with appropriate business insurance.
