Nurse Manager – Learning Disability Care Home
Location: Belfast
Salary: 54,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, predominantly MondayFriday, with weekend on-call responsibilities
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
We are recruiting an experienced and passionate Nurse Manager to lead a well-established 40-bedded learning disability nursing home in Belfast.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse leader who is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care while developing and supporting a multidisciplinary nursing and care team.
The Role
As Nurse Manager, you will hold overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the nursing home and its resources. You will provide strong clinical and operational leadership, ensuring residents receive safe, effective and compassionate care.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading the operational management of the nursing home and its resources.
Providing clinical leadership and promoting a culture of continuous learning, education and practice development.
Guiding, instructing and monitoring nursing staff, student nurses, nursing care assistants and other ancillary team members.
Ensuring practice complies with the NMC Code of Conduct, relevant statutory requirements and applicable nursing home regulations and standards.
Maintaining high standards of resident care, governance and regulatory compliance.
Supporting, developing and motivating staff to maintain a positive and effective working environment.
Overseeing key management responsibilities, including employee relations and budget management.
Essential Criteria
Applicants must:
Be a First Level Registered Nurse with current registration on Part 1 of the NMC Register.
Have at least 5 years’ post-registration experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a similar care setting within the last 5 years.
Hold a relevant management qualification or have at least 2 years’ relevant managerial experience within the last 5 years.
Demonstrate sound knowledge of professional and statutory requirements.
Have a clear understanding of the responsibilities involved in managing a nursing home, including employee relations and budget management.
Demonstrate strong clinical leadership, communication and people-management skills.
Desirable: Registered Learning Disability Nurse (RNLD).
Salary & Benefits
The position offers a salary of 54,000 per annum, alongside a company sick pay scheme and life assurance following the qualifying period.
The successful candidate will also have opportunities for ongoing professional development and external training.
Additional Information
Due to the nature of the role and access to vulnerable adults, the successful applicant will be required to complete a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure Check through AccessNI.
