Location: Derry/Londonderry
Pay: £12.75 – £21.55 per hour
Job type: Temporary (block booking)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, agreed block-booking shift pattern

TCR Staffing Solutions is recruiting an experienced Support Worker for a block booking within our client’s children’s residential service. You will provide person-centred care to children and young people with learning disabilities and additional support needs, helping create a safe, supportive environment where they can develop independence and achieve their goals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide practical and emotional support in line with individual care plans.
• Assist with daily routines, personal care and activities.
• Administer medication safely and maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MARs).
• Follow safeguarding procedures, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
• Maintain clear records and contribute to handovers.
• Work closely with colleagues, families and other professionals.

Essential criteria

• NVQ/QCF/RQF Level 3 in Care, or an accepted equivalent qualification.
• At least three years’ experience in learning-disability care or support.
• Experience administering medication and completing MAR records.
• Current NISCC registration or eligibility to register.
• Good communication, record-keeping and teamwork skills.
• A respectful, person-centred approach and understanding of safeguarding.
• Availability for the agreed block-booking shift pattern.

Desirable

• Current CPI training.
• Experience working in children’s residential care.
