Senior Housekeeper / Cook – Band 3 (Children’s Home)

Location: Antrim (Northern Health and Social Care Trust)
Pay: From £12.71 per hour; Saturday £17.22 per hour; Sunday £21.55 per hour
Job type: Temporary agency assignment
Hours: 37.5 hours per week preferred, Monday to Friday 8am–4pm or 9am–5pm, one weekend per month preferred

TCR Staffing Solutions is recruiting a Senior Housekeeper / Cook for a children’s home in Antrim with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust. You will provide nutritious meals and a clean, homely environment for the young people living there.

Duties

• Plan and prepare meals.
• Order food within budget.
• Receive deliveries and manage stock rotation.
• Keep temperature and hygiene records.
• Clean kitchens, dining areas, bedrooms and communal areas.
• Manage laundry and household supplies.
• Encourage young people to take part in food preparation and household tasks in line with their care plans.
• Follow Health & Safety and IPC procedures.
• Support the induction and training of junior staff.

Essential

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, or NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation and Cooking.
• 1 year’s experience as an Assistant Cook, Cook or Housekeeper.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Good communication, teamwork, planning and supervisory skills.
• Understanding of catering and housekeeping, hygiene standards and the needs of young people.
• Flexibility to work a rota.

• Health assessment.
