Domestic Services Supervisor – Band 3

Location: Newry (Southern Health and Social Care Trust)
Pay: From £12.75 per hour (Band 3 NHS Agenda for Change rates)
Job type: Temporary agency assignment, part-time
Hours: 25–30 hours per week, Monday to Sunday rota, shifts between 7am and 8pm

TCR Staffing Solutions is recruiting a Domestic Services Supervisor for a temporary agency assignment with the Southern Health and Social Care Trust in Newry. You will lead the domestic team and help keep high standards of cleanliness and infection prevention.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate domestic staff.
• Carry out inspections and audits.
• Manage rotas and arrange cover.
• Oversee specialist cleaning including discharge, terminal and isolation cleans.
• Ensure Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) compliance.
• Ensure safe use and storage of chemicals in line with COSHH.
• Manage stock and supplies.
• Support staff training and Health & Safety.
• Report faults and incidents.
• Build good working relationships with ward staff.

Essential

• 2 years’ customer or patient service experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
• Good organisation and communication skills.
• Ability to supervise and motivate a team.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, including COSHH.
• Ability to prioritise under pressure.
• Willing to work weekends and evenings.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car (subject to Trust disability exemption).
• Willing to complete Level 2 Food Safety in Catering.

Desirable

• Experience supervising cleaning or housekeeping staff.
• Hospital experience.
• Knowledge of hospital cleaning and IPC.
• Basic Word and Excel skills.
• Level 2 Food Safety.
