Job Type: Full-Time | Temporary to Permanent Opportunities Available

Salary: 13.43 per hour (temporary rate) | £25,403 per annum (permanent salary)

 

About the Role

 

Are you passionate about supporting young people and helping them develop the skills and confidence to live independently?

 

We are recruiting Youth Housing Workers (Nights) to support young people aged 1621 who are leaving care, experiencing homelessness, or transitioning to independent living. Working within a supported housing environment, you will provide practical and emotional support, promote wellbeing and safeguarding, and help young people build the skills needed to maintain their own tenancy.

Key Responsibilities

 

Provide support and guidance to young people during waking night shifts.

Promote the safety, wellbeing, and safeguarding of residents.

Assist young people in developing independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, cleaning, and tenancy management.

Build positive and professional relationships with young people.

Maintain accurate records and complete required reports.

Liaise with external agencies and emergency services when required.

Ensure accommodation remains safe, secure, and well maintained.

 

Essential Requirements

 

Minimum 6 months’ paid or voluntary experience in a caring, support, or residential role.

Enhanced Access NI Check.

Live NISCC Registration.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

 

Available Positions

 

Downpatrick – Full-Time, Permanent

Newry – Full-Time, Permanent

Newry – Full-Time Fixed-Term Contract (until May 2027)

 

Working Pattern

 

36 hours per week

Predominantly waking night shifts

Includes weekends, bank holidays, and occasional day shifts as required

 

Recruitment Process

 

Successful applicants will initially commence on a temporary contract, with reviews at Weeks 4 and 8. Following a successful review process, candidates may be offered a permanent position subject to completion of compliance requirements.
