Band 3 Catering Supervisor – Craigavon Area Hospital (Immediate Start)
Pay: Band 3
Hours: 37.5 per week
Location: CAH Catering Department

About the Role
Craigavon Area Hospital is seeking two Band 3 Catering Supervisors to join the Catering Department on an immediate‑start basis. The successful candidates will support the delivery of a high‑quality catering service across dining rooms, coffee bars and patient meal services.
You will supervise staff, maintain food safety standards, ensure compliance with HACCP procedures, and contribute to the smooth running of daily catering operations.
Key Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise catering teams across dining rooms, coffee bars and patient meal services.
- Monitor service standards, complete audits and implement action plans.
- Ensure compliance with dietary requirements, allergens and food safety regulations.
- Plan and supervise staff work schedules and duty rotas.
- Maintain accurate HACCP recording and monitoring.
- Uphold high standards of food hygiene, personal hygiene and presentation.
- Report food quality issues, equipment faults, incidents and pest sightings.
- Ensure economical use of provisions and consumables.
- Handle cash when required.
- Support staff training, development, discipline and sickness management.
- Deal with telephone queries and support complaint handling.
- Maintain strong working relationships with ward managers and departments.
Essential Criteria

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a customer or patient service role within healthcare or the hospitality industry.
- Willingness to complete Level 2 Food Safety in Catering training.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car (unless exempt).
- Flexibility to work weekends and evenings as part of a rota.
- Ability to supervise staff, prioritise workload, communicate effectively and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations.
Available Shift Patterns
- 37.5 hours per week – 5 days out of 7, every other weekend, rota between 7:30am–8pm
- 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday, rota between 7:30am–8pm
Additional Information
- Enhanced Access NI check required.
- Mandatory training must be completed.
- Successful applicants may be required to attend a health assessment.
