Catering Assistants – Daisy Hill Hospital
Hours: Up to 37.5 hours per week
Work Pattern: 5 days out of 7 (including weekends)
Location: Daisy Hill Hospital
Start Date: Immediate

Job Summary
Daisy Hill Hospital requires two Catering Assistants to support the dining room and dishwashing areas. These roles involve delivering high‑quality catering and cleaning support within a busy hospital environment. Summer relief applicants are welcome to help cover service needs during peak periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting meal service within the hospital dining room
- Operating dishwashing equipment and maintaining cleanliness in the wash‑up area
- Replenishing food, cutlery, crockery, and supplies as required
- Ensuring all catering areas are kept clean, safe, and compliant with infection‑control standards
- Following food hygiene procedures and Trust policies
- Working effectively as part of the catering team
- Providing a high standard of customer service to staff, patients, and visitors
Essential Criteria
- Ability to work up to 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis
- Flexibility to work weekends as required
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work in a fast‑paced environment
- Previous catering experience (preferred but not essential)
Mandatory Pre‑Employment Checks
The following must be completed before a start date can be confirmed:
- Standard Access NI check (standard fee applies)
- Health check, including providing full vaccination history
- Two references
- In‑person ID verification
