Job Description
Total Care Recruitment Ltd is urgently seeking a part-time Switchboard Operator to join Holywell Hospital on a night duty pattern. This role is the main point of contact for the hospital during night hours, requiring excellent communication skills, strong call-handling ability, and a calm, professional approach in a fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for answering and transferring incoming calls efficiently, supporting staff, patients, and visitors with enquiries, and ensuring calls are directed appropriately. This is a temporary position for an initial three-month period, with enhanced hourly rates for night duty and flexible working arrangements.
Criteria
Essential:
• Right to work in the UK
• Previous experience in a switchboard or similar role, handling high volumes of calls
• Ability to work night duty shifts (9:00pm – 8:00am) and commit to a minimum of 2 shifts per week
• Strong communication skills and a professional telephone manner
Desirable:
• Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and prioritise calls appropriately
