Job Description
Total Care Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a Catering Supervisor (Band 3) for a post based within the Catering Department at DHH. The Catering Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring a high-quality catering service is delivered and maintained across designated service areas, including patient meal service, dining room, and coffee bar operations.
The post holder will lead and supervise a team, monitor service standards, and ensure compliance with food safety requirements. This includes managing dietary requirements, allergen compliance, HACCP documentation, and maintaining high standards of hygiene, portion control, presentation, and customer service.
You will also support staff development, assist with rotas, handle audits, respond to queries, and support the management of sickness absence, discipline, and complaints in line with Trust policy. The role requires strong communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with ward and departmental teams.
Criteria
Essential:
• Right to work in the UK
• Previous supervisory experience in catering, food service, or a similar role
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and safe food handling practices
• Knowledge of HACCP and ability to maintain accurate HACCP records
• Awareness of dietary requirements and allergen compliance
• Ability to manage and motivate a team
• Good communication and organisational skills
Desirable:
• Experience working within a hospital or healthcare setting
• Experience completing audits and implementing action plans
• Experience with cash handling
• Knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH, colour coding, waste management, and environmental cleanliness standards
