Warehouse Operative/Driver (Temporary)

Job Description:

The Procurement and Logistics Service (PaLS) is recruiting a Warehouse Operative/Driver to join the CECS team. This role involves cleaning, inspecting, and managing community equipment, operating warehouse machinery, and delivering/collecting equipment across Northern Ireland. Flexible working hours may be required to meet service needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Decontaminate and quality-check community equipment according to MD4/01 and MHRA DB2003 standards.
• Maintain accurate stock and decontamination records using barcode scanners and WMS systems.
• Issue, receive, pick, and dispatch stock and emergency equipment.
• Drive vehicles safely for deliveries and collections; perform routine vehicle maintenance.
• Assist clients at the public counter in a courteous manner.
• Operate mechanical aids such as pallet trucks, electric order pickers, and certified forklifts.
• Ensure warehouse cleanliness, security, and adherence to health & safety policies.

Essential Criteria:

• Minimum 3 GCSEs (A*-C) including English and Maths plus 1 year procurement/logistics experience OR 2 years relevant logistics experience.
• Full B Driving Licence (ability to drive up to 3.5T vehicles).
• Ability to work as part of a team, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively.

Desirable:

• Forklift licence (counterbalance/reach truck).
