Night Support Worker
Location: Belfast

Role Overview
As a Night Support Worker, you will provide overnight support to women transitioning from prison into housing and the community. The role focuses on ensuring safety, responding to emergencies, and offering emotional support during night-time hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide emotional and practical support to service users overnight
  • Respond to incidents, crises, and emergency situations
  • Carry out regular wellbeing and safety checks of accommodation
  • Address housing or neighbourhood-related issues
  • Maintain accurate records, including incident reports and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, safeguarding, and confidentiality policies
  • Participate in handovers, team meetings, and training

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 2 qualification in Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience supporting vulnerable individuals
  • Experience in crisis intervention (desirable)

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make decisions in challenging situations
  • Good understanding of homelessness, housing issues, and support services
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, risk management, and health & safety

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work independently on night shifts
  • Flexible to work evenings, nights, and weekends
  • Commitment to the service values
  • Subject to Enhanced Access NI check

Working Environment

  • Overnight, rota-based role supporting service users in accommodation and the community
