Support / Case Worker (Women’s Services)
Role Overview
The role focuses on supporting service users to improve their housing, health, and overall wellbeing through person-centred support, targeted interventions, and effective signposting. You will build strong, trusting relationships and deliver tailored support plans to enhance service users’ quality of life and promote independence.
Key Responsibilities
Service User Support
- Deliver person-centred, respectful support and develop individualised support plans
- Assess risks and implement strategies to improve safety and wellbeing
- Support service users to engage with services, stabilise, and sustain accommodation
- Develop and review resettlement plans, including move-on accommodation
- Build relationships to reduce re-offending and support positive outcomes
- Advocate for service users and liaise with external agencies
- Deliver outreach support within the community
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with health & safety policies and complete required checks
- Maintain a safe and secure environment, managing risk appropriately
Administration
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and client documentation
- Manage incidents, financial transactions, and comply with IT/data security policies
Team Contribution
- Participate in handovers, meetings, training, and volunteer support
- Work professionally in line with the services values and standards
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Level 3 qualification in Social Care (or equivalent) with 2 years’ experience,
OR - 3 years’ relevant experience with Level 2 qualifications (including Maths & English)
- Experience working with vulnerable women (ideally those leaving prison)
Skills & Knowledge
- Risk assessment and support planning experience
- Strong communication and IT skills
- Understanding of homelessness and related challenges
- Knowledge of statutory/voluntary services and multi-agency working
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work a flexible rota (including evenings and weekends)
- Driving licence and access to a car (for outreach roles)
- Subject to Access NI check
