Compliance & Safeguarding

Our Commitment to Compliance

At Total Care Recruitment Ltd, compliance and safeguarding are central to how we operate.

Founded and led by qualified social workers, our organisation is built on a strong understanding of professional responsibility, ethical recruitment, and duty of care. These principles guide our recruitment practices across all sectors we support.

We are proud members of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) and are committed to upholding the REC Code of Professional Practice, ensuring fair, lawful, and transparent recruitment for both candidates and clients.

Safeguarding

Safeguarding is a core priority, particularly within health and social care, but it also underpins our wider recruitment approach across all sectors.

We recognise our responsibility to help protect vulnerable adults and children and take this responsibility seriously. Safeguarding considerations are embedded throughout our recruitment and placement processes, with clear procedures in place for reporting and escalation.

All staff involved in recruitment are trained to recognise safeguarding concerns and understand their responsibility to act appropriately and professionally.

Safer Recruitment Practices

We follow robust, role-appropriate recruitment procedures to ensure candidates are suitable before placement. Depending on the role and sector, these checks may include:

Identity verification

Right to Work checks

Employment history and reference checks

Enhanced Access NI checks where required

Verification of qualifications, training, or certifications

Role-specific compliance screening

No candidate is placed until all required checks are completed.

Ongoing Monitoring & Support

Compliance does not end once a placement is made.

We maintain ongoing communication with both candidates and clients to ensure standards are upheld throughout assignments. Any concerns raised are taken seriously and addressed promptly in line with our internal policies and professional obligations.

Our leadership team provides professional oversight to ensure consistent standards and accountability across all services.

Equality, Diversity & Fair Treatment

Total Care Recruitment Ltd is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion.

We operate a fair, transparent, and non-discriminatory recruitment process and do not tolerate discrimination on any grounds. All candidates are assessed based on skills, experience, and suitability for the role.

Health & Safety

We work with clients to ensure candidates are placed into safe working environments and are informed of relevant health and safety requirements associated with their role.

Candidates are encouraged to raise any concerns relating to workplace safety so they can be addressed promptly.

Protecting Candidates from Fraud

Total Care Recruitment will never charge candidates fees for finding work.

We are committed to protecting candidates from recruitment fraud and scams. Any communication regarding job opportunities will come directly from our authorised team. Candidates are encouraged to contact us immediately if they have concerns about suspicious activity.

Our Standards

Our foundations in health and social care continue to shape the standards we apply across every sector we recruit for.

We remain committed to ethical recruitment, safeguarding responsibility, and professional integrity — providing reassurance, consistency, and trust for both clients and candidates.

If you have any questions about our compliance or safeguarding processes, our team is happy to discuss them with you.
